TEN HD

TEN HD launched this weekend in Australia. It’s really great to have Full HD TV, but seriously – could TEN have made the watermark any larger or more noticeable? It frickin’ takes up a quarter of the screen!!

It’s time the government stepped in and got these commercial networks back in line. You want that commercial TV licence? Then you treat your programmes and your public with respect!

No water marks. No overlays advertising stuff during the show. No talking over the credits or stretching credits to show the next (or some other) show. No popups just before the ads, or after the ads, saying what is on next. Treat your programmes with the respect you give every piece of art – yes, even Neighbours. I mean, would you stand for the following while visiting Paris?

Well you couldn’t even call it a watermark really. More like Channel 10 just decided to blot out a large portion of their own broadcast.

My only explanation is that as the “service” is new, they are trying to push the identification, and couldn’t in their right minds intend this as a permanent feature.

As for this little gem:

Cheech and Chong called and they want their drugs back!
