10 HD is now 1440 X 1080i, I'd say to compensate with the lower bitrate. To bad if you have a 1080p set.

I presume the issue comes down to the bandwidth offered to each station when the originally bid for it? I remember 10 ditched their TV guide to increase the bitrate for their HD channel.

Interesting data on the bitrates Grant. TV continues to suck and disappoint.

As I've said before, it is time the government stepped in, revoked all their licences, and had new companies come in to try and run Commercial TV 2.0.

I'm still pissed they couldn't broadcast the tennis in HD here but they could in the US from 7's feed. We've had digital tv since 2000?

Have you noticed 10 HD has dropped their bitrate as they're getting ready for their sporting channel?

Ten HD has dropped from 16.5Mbps to 13.25Mbps (still at 1920x1080i resolution)
Ten SD has dropped from 4.6 Mbps to 4.0 Mbps
The new One Digital/SD is 3.6 Mbps (no dolby digital audio -only MPEG audio)
