What is Battery Info?

Battery Info is a small (7k) application for the Apple Newton. It has only been tested on the Apple Newton MessagePad 2×00 series, and was created back in 1997.
When the application is running, it gives you the following information, as shown in the screen shot:
- Type of batteries installed;
- Whether batteries or AC adapter is in use;
- The charge on the batteries;
- The state of the batteries (charging, charged, discharging);
- AC Voltage (V);
- Battery Voltage (V);
- Battery Current (mA);
- Battery Temperature (degrees C); and
- Ambient Temperature (degrees C).
Why did you build this?
A number of reasons:
- The newton itself stores this information, but doesn’t display it;
- Many of the applications available to give this information are insanely large; and
- Most of the applications available that give the temperature, give it in degrees Fahrenheit, which is not really useful if you live in Australia.
